Satyrium at the vlei

Between the dunes and the dune bush at German Bay there is an orchid which we've idetified as Satyrium hallackii.   It flowers in December and in most years, there are only a few flowers.   However, this year, 2014, there were over 400 plants in bloom.   The spectacle rivalled that of Satyrium hallackii ocellatum at Dullstroom illustrated on p.168 in the "Field Guide to the Orchids of northern South Africa and Swaziland" by McMurty et al.2008,  .
